Aims

This aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to perform audits of social systems.


By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  a)  Describe the potential range of social issues that face organisations and auditors, and the range of conventions, specifications, codes of conduct and other initiatives;

  b) Describe the fundamental purpose of a management system and explain the purpose, content and interrelationship of the SMETA Best Practice Guidance, local industry practice, the relevant legislative framework

  c) Describe the responsibilities of an auditor and describe the role of audit in the maintenance and improvement of social systems, in accordance with ISO 19011;

  d)  Conduct and report an audit of a social system of an organisation in accordance with ISO 19011 and by interpreting the requirements of the SMETA Best Practice Guidance.

Profile:


This Course combines the Social Systems Foundation Training Course and the Internal Social Systems Auditor Training Course and is certificated by the IRCA. Course Certificate Numbers: A17280 and A171360.

This course is delivered using student-centred learning techniques and workshop exercises. Participants are not expected to possess knowledge of social systems or the SMETA Best Practice Guidance before attending the course. The course concludes with a 90-minute written examination. Successful completion of this Course fulfils part of the training requirements for certification as a Social Systems Auditor with the IRCA.
