This course takes a practical approach to legislative compliance and how it can be managed within an environmental management system. The course covers a range of environmental legislation; the application of legal requirements; assessing legal compliance; and maintaining a legal register.
This course aims to:
- Develop an understanding of the principal requirements of UK and EU environmental legislation.
- Outline the implications for organisations seeking to comply with legislation.
- Increase awareness of the key concepts of Law, including strict and personal liability.
- Develop a practical understanding of the requirements of ISO 14001 in relation to identifying and complying with relevant legislation.

The course is supported with up-to-date notes covering major legislation and also information on how to find out more. Tutors develop ideas of the application of law using a series of scenario-based case studies. Ideal for those with responsibility for identifying existing or forthcoming legislation, or looking to implement an EMS to meet the requirements of ISO 14001.
