SGS in its endeavours to increase the quality and standard of our Quality Management Systems training has formed an association with Quality Management and Training Limited (QM&T). We are now able to offer through QM&T the nationally and internationally recognised Charter Quality Institutes (CQI) Certificate and Diploma distance learning courses for Quality Professionals.

Who are QM&T?

Established in 1984, Quality Management & Training Limited (QM&T) is a provider of 'quality' products and services. The organisation is renowned nationally and internationally not only for its training but also for its extensive range of services.

QM&T is a registered and accredited centre for both the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH). They provide distance learning courses such as the NEBOSH Certificate, CQI Diploma and CQI Certificate.

Winner of the Best CQI College Award and the highest pass rate makes QM&T the most obvious choice. The organisation's quality assurance experiences are broad and varied, ranging from Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 & AS 9100, through developing books, distance learning (NEBOSH Certificate, CQI Diploma and CQI Certificate, etc.) and software, to major quality improvement initiatives (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Process Mapping, Six Sigma, etc.).

Chartered Quality Institute qualifications (CQI)

Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Certificate and Diploma are the nationally and internationally recognised standard qualifications for “Quality Professionals”. Both qualifications meet the academic criteria for membership of the CQI. The CQI Certificate (NVQ level 3) and the CQI Diploma (NVQ level 5) qualifications have been

accredited by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA), supporting the Government Department for Education & Skills (DfES).

The CQI Programmes:

QM&T offer two CQI programmes:

• CQI Certificate in Quality (Assurance & Management – (NVQ level 3)
  Code – CQI/C1, C2, C3
  
  This is an ideal entry point for those who are new to the quality field, which provides the opportunity for an introductory level qualification.
  
  It consists of three modules:
  

• C1 - Quality: Customer, clients and markets
• C2 - Quality: Principles of data analysis
• C3 - Quality: Models, standards and laws.
  C1 & C2 are assessed by assignments; C3 is assessed by an examination.
  

• CQI Diploma in Quality (Assurance & Management) – (NVQ level 5)
  Code – CQI/D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6

This level 5 qualification consists of six modules:

• D1 - Principles of Quality & Data Analysis
• D2 - Principles & Practice
• D3 - Tools & Techniques
• D4 - Communications & Project Management
• D5 - Quality Project
• D6 - Quality and Environmental Management
  
  * For each module there is an examination and assignment to be completed.

 

Entry Requirement

There is no specific entry requirement other than for the Diploma, which are basic qualifications in Maths and English (i.e. GCSE or ‘O’ level).

CQI Distance Learning Package Content:

Each of these packages is a stand alone private tuition package that allows the delegate to work at their own pace through the preset training material.

• Course workbook and tutorial Notes
• Course textbook, specifically compiled and created to support and reflect the CQI syllabus.
• One year's professional tutorial support is provided by telephone, fax, e-mail or written correspondence as required. The tutor will be especially selected from QM&T's team for the extensive knowledge and experience with the specific CQI course.
