Aims

The aim of this course is to enable participants to understand the need for, and the benefits of, a systematic and dedicated audit programme. It will highlight the objectives, extent and responsibilities involved in establishing the programme as well as the resources and issue involved in maintaining the programme.

Profile

This course is ideal for those who are responsible for setting up and running an internal audit programme, or an external programme aimed at auditing suppliers and subcontractors. The correct management and review of an audit programme is critical to its success in providing real improvements to the business. We know that all too often, audit programmes are haphazard and take place on an ‘ad hoc’ basis. Issues of auditor competence are rarely addressed.

The course is designed to address the issues involved and to provide a thorough understanding of these requirements as set by ISO guide to management systems auditing (ISO 19011). It is designed to ensure that the participants are aware of the options available to them and to introduce ideas of current best practice. The programme applies to all management specialisms, quality, environmental, occupational health & safety and social systems.
