Aims
The objective of this course is to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 as a tool for business improvement.
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Understand the purpose of an occupational
- Health & safety management system and explain
- The legislative framework relevant to an OH&S management system
- Explain the purpose and intent of the OHSAS 18000 specifications
- Describe the OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements
Profile
Participants planning to complete other OH&S management systems training such as the OH&S Management Systems Auditor/Lead Auditor Course or the Internal OH&S Management Systems Auditor Training Course will benefit from the course as it provides a strong knowledge and theory foundation upon which to build auditing skills.
It also works as an introduction for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of an occupational health & safety management system.
This course comprises lecture and workshop exercises. Participants are not expected to possess knowledge of OH&S management systems or OHSAS 18001:2007 before attending the course. Successful completion of this and the Internal OH&S Management Systems Auditor Training Course fulfil part of the training requirements for certification as an OH&S Internal Auditor with the IRCA.
