Aims:
The objective of this course is to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of ISO 27001:2005 as a tool for business improvement.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose and intent of the ISO 27001 family of standards
- Describe the requirements of ISO 27001
- Explain the relationship between the clauses of ISO 27001
- Understand the purpose and requirements of ISO 27001 as a tool for the continual improvement of the information security management system.

This course is an introduction for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of an information security management systems based on ISO 27001.
Also, those planning to complete other Information Security Management Systems training, for internal auditing and the Lead Auditor Training Course, will benefit from this course as it provides a strong basis of knowledge and understanding of ISO 27001 upon which to build auditing skills.
This course comprises lectures and workshop exercises. Participants are not expected to possess knowledge of information security management systems or ISO 27001 before attending the course.
